Diesel Performance Engines has its roots in the Warranty/Product Development/R&D Workshop of Engine Australia. Engine Australia has been servicing the Australian diesel engine and spare parts market since 1958. Originally an engine reconditioning shop servicing western Queensland, today it is a national business selling aftermarket diesel engine parts across Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Canada, USA and Europe.

A second-generation family-owned business, the current General Manager, Philip Sturgess, has a background in engine reconditioning, manufacturing, and materials engineering and machining and building performance petrol engines. In 2016 he decided to expand the business into performance diesel engine parts and started designing and developing a range of products for Toyota 1HZ and 1HDT, and Nissan TD42T engines. Today, we cater for a range of engines and parts and build performance diesel engines, balance engines and dyno-tune performance diesel 4WD and utes.

The performance department has continued to grow strongly, and we have decided to make the workshop a stand-alone entity. It will continue to do everything done previously, but the primary focus will be performance diesel engines, parts, and tuning. The new business entity is Diesel Performance Engines and will operate from the same premises with the same staff. We will continue to support Engine Australia with warranty and product testing support.
