OUR SERVICES

Diesel Performance Engines specialises in all facets of performance Japanese and USA diesel engines, typically fitted in 4WDs and pick-ups/utes. This includes:

Dyno-tuning utes and 4WDs fitted with turbocharged diesel engines – tune to achieve the maximum safe horsepower and torque with the highest AFRs and lowest EGTs.
Sell and fit Unichip modules or remap the ECU to achieve improved performance.
Develop, have made to our specifications, or buy in and sell performance engine parts for many late model Japanese and USA diesel 4WD engines.
Balance rotating engine assemblies for all engines.
Build performance diesel engines for many late model Japanese and USA 4WD diesel engines.
5 gas emissions, drive cycle testing.

WORKSHOP TOUR

Come inside our workshop and have a look around at our equipment and tools. This is where we do all our machining, testing, engine building and engine tuning. Only a small amount of our work is out-sourced. We take pride in our knowledge, skills and craftmanship and continuously improve on them all.

ABOUT US

Diesel Performance Engines has its roots in the Warranty/Product Development/R&D Workshop of Engine Australia. Engine Australia has been servicing the Australian diesel engine and spare parts market since 1958. Originally an engine reconditioning shop servicing western Queensland, today it is a national business selling aftermarket diesel engine parts across Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Canada, USA and Europe.

A second-generation family-owned business, the current General Manager, Philip Sturgess, has a background in engine reconditioning, manufacturing, and materials engineering and machining and building performance petrol engines. In 2016 he decided to expand the business into performance diesel engine parts and started designing and developing a range of products for Toyota 1HZ and 1HDT, and Nissan TD42T engines. Today, we cater for a range of engines and parts and build performance diesel engines, balance engines and dyno-tune performance diesel 4WD and utes.

The performance department has continued to grow strongly, and we have decided to make the workshop a stand-alone entity. It will continue to do everything done previously, but the primary focus will be performance diesel engines, parts, and tuning. The new business entity is Diesel Performance Engines and will operate from the same premises with the same staff. We will continue to support Engine Australia with warranty and product testing support.
